Bister powder Blue 30g

Bister is your tinted walnut ink for adding genuine atmospheric depth — that soft, aged patina that makes mixed media and sculpture work feel like it has history. This granule form mixes with water two ways: blend it with distilled water for a custom spray, or sprinkle the granules dry onto wet Universal Medium for organic texture and crackle effects.

Apply it onto a lighter-colored Universal Medium base — Ivory works beautifully — and let it settle into the recesses and texture of your piece, deepening shadows and adding contrast right where you want it.

Bister isn't waterproof or lightfast on its own. For permanent results, mix it with Powderfix first, then seal with Easy Varnish for any piece headed outdoors or into regular handling.

What you can do with it:

• Mix with distilled water for a custom-strength spray
• Sprinkle dry onto wet Universal Medium for organic texture and crackle effects
• Apply over a light Universal Medium base like Ivory to deepen shadows and add contrast
• Layer multiple Bister colors together for custom, atmospheric tones

Tips:

• A pipette gives you precise control for small, detailed areas
• Mix with Powderfix before applying if you want a permanent, non-reactive finish
• Seal with Easy Varnish or Easy Coat for outdoor display or frequently handled pieces
