It shines with our Powertex Universal Medium mixed into Stone Art or Powersmooth air-dry clay — mix up a batch, press it in, and you've got a set of custom half-face details that match the rest of your project. It also works beautifully with polymer clay, plaster of paris, and resin. Just keep in mind that Universal Medium doesn't adhere to resin, so a resin casting is best finished and painted with resin-specific products rather than PUM.

Cheryl's tip: Lightly dust the mold with cornstarch before pressing in your clay — it helps everything release cleanly. Press the clay into the mold, let it start to set up, then carefully pop it out and let it finish drying on a nonstick surface (you may need to flip it partway through so both sides dry evenly). Because our air-dry clays shrink a little as they cure, this gentle approach keeps the detail crisp. Once fully dry, paint with Universal Medium or your favorite paints and attach to your piece.

Tips:
