Stone Art is how you bring the weight and texture of real stone into a piece that started out light as air. This uniquely formulated wood powder mixes with Universal Medium to build genuinely convincing stone textures — think rugged, carved, weathered surfaces — and it can also be mixed into a custom texture paste or a self-hardening air-dry clay for sculpting or jewelry-making. Where 3Dflex gives you drama through deep crackles, Stone Art gives you structure: solid, dimensional, stone-like form you can build up layer by layer.

For the most realistic stone look, mix it with Universal Medium Transparent or Grey — though any Universal Medium color works if you're after a different finish. No kiln, no baking — just mix, shape, and let it air-dry.

What you can do with it:

• Mix with Universal Medium Transparent or Grey for realistic stone effects
• Combine with any Universal Medium color to create a custom texture paste or self-hardening sculpting clay
• Build fine or coarse texture into paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media surfaces
• Shape into jewelry pieces or small sculptural forms

Tips:

• For a polished stone effect: paint a base layer of Universal Medium, let it get just a little tacky, then sprinkle Stone Art over it and rub it in. Repeat as needed for more depth.
• For a crackled, rough stone texture: mix up a smooth clay and roll it out a bit, sprinkle Stone Art over the surface, then roll over it with a rolling pin (or a wine bottle works great) to press it in.
• Cheryl's favorite tip and recipe, for a strong, smooth clay: first combine equal parts Stone Art and Powersmooth powders and mix them together well. Then add Universal Medium in an amount equal to that combined powder mix (so if you used 1 cup of powder total, add 1 cup of Universal Medium) and stir until it comes together into a smooth, strong clay.
