Discover the unexpected with a very limited Powertex Matte Universal Medium, a serendipitous innovation born from a manufacturing error. Initially intended as a Transparent Universal Medium, this versatile 'oops' medium has proven to be the perfect companion for all your texture powders, transforming them into high-quality, air-drying clays.
It is also great for use with unbleached organic fibers, such as wool or plant fibers, where the amber tint would not be distracting.

This versatile, water-based liquid medium offers a slight amber matte finish and is perfect for use with our texture powders to create different types of air-dry clays.
Please note: this does not dry completely transparent; the formula has a mattifying agent with a slight amber tint. This is NOT to be used as our traditional transparent Universal Medium. This formula is best used as a universal medium to make clay or to harden natural fibers.
How to Use:
- Prepare Your Mixture: Choose any of our texture powders (individually or together) and combine them with Limited Matte Finish Powertex Universal Medium. Adjust the ratio to achieve your preferred consistency. (more medium equals a texture paste where more powders create a thicker clay)
- Create: Use the mixture to sculpt, mold, or detail your projects. The medium's unique properties ensure smooth application and excellent workability. You can mix with different colors of our Universal Mediums or customize using pigments, paints, or any of our water-based colors.
- Air Dry: Allow your creation to air dry completely. The drying time will vary depending on the thickness of your work. You can also paint over the clays after the clay has dried with any Powertex Universal Medium colors or most any paints.

- Mix Thoroughly: Before use, stir with a paint stick or dowel. Shake to evenly distribute any settled pigments.
- Make Air-Dry clay: Mix Universal Medium with Stone Art or Easy 3D Flex.
- Customize colors: Mix Powertex Universal Medium colors together or with pigments or colorants to create custom colors for your projects.
- Seal Finished Projects: Seal your completed Powertex projects with a varnish or sealer for added durability and protection.
