Bister Spray Ink is the ready-to-go way to bring that same tinted-walnut-ink atmosphere into your work — no mixing required, just spray and watch it settle into your piece. It's your go-to for adding depth, shadow, and aged character to mixed media and sculpture.

Spray it onto a lighter-colored Universal Medium base — Ivory is a favorite — and let it interact with the surface. It settles naturally into texture and recesses, creating contrast that a flat coat of color never could.

Bister is water-reactive and not permanent on its own — seal with Easy Varnish or transparent Universal Medium once you're happy with the effect, especially for anything headed outdoors.

What you can do with it:
